Our Values

Our Values

  • Communication—Using language to connect with others, with clarity, openness, and intentionality.  Cleaning up misunderstandings as soon as they are discovered by being in communication.
  • Strengths-based assessment—Identifying what is working well and focusing energy on expanding strengths.  Seeing individuals as their highest potential.
  • Respect—Seeing each person as an equal participant in creating the tone and nature of the conflict resolution process and the on-going relationship.  Honoring the right of each person to have their own perspective and point of view.
  • Engagement—Staying connected to the people and process, either by active participation or by staying informed.  Speaking up when ones own needs or the needs of others are not being met.  Being willing to stay connected even in the face of non-agreement or discomfort with any part of the process.
  • Empowerment—Sharing knowledge, authority, responsibility, and opportunity so that all members of the dispute can be effective in accomplishing their roles and contributing to the success of the process.
  • Responsibility—Giving up the role of victim. Seeing oneself as 100% responsible for the conflictual environment and for the outcome of the on-going relationship.
  • Creating the future—Being proactive in creating a common vision of the desired future and declaring mutual intentions to work together to achieve that shared vision.  Minimizing or eliminating distractions and barriers to accomplishing these intentions.
